As the government revised Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) policy dedicated for special financial zone (SFZ), status upgrade from duty-free area to duty-free Island, as well as special financial zone attractive investment policies, Forest City has become a strategic investment location in the region.

In order to adapt to market development, to create valuable synergies within local market, optimize resources distribution, and to aid the local businesses achieve rapid development, Country Garden Group established a Malaysia Division to be fully responsible for the planning, coordination and overall management functions of the strategic projects in Malaysia.

The establishment of the Malaysia Division will enhance the integration of high-quality resources and team structure for Country Garden Group in the Malaysian market. The division aims to continue focusing on developing Forest City as flagship project, committed to cooperate with the Malaysia federal government and Johor state government and strengthen collaboration with the Johor Esplanade Danga 88 Sdn Bhd, to jointly advance the construction of the Special Financial Zone.
