GELANG PATAH, 04 December 2019: Forest City staff brought 100 poor students and orphans from six schools in Gelang Patah to buy items to get them ready for the Back To School 2020 school year. The children are from families in the B40 category.  It was to motivate and encourage the children to start the school year with new enthusiasm.

The poor students and orphans were students of SK Ladang Pendas, SK Morni Pok, SK Pendas Laut, SK Tanjong Adang, SK Tanjung Kupang and SK Tiram Duku, which are located within a 2km radius from Forest City.  The developer is spending RM20,000.00 to buy school uniforms, shoes, socks, bags, sports shorts, stationery, among others. This programme has been part of Forest City CSR and was executed in 2015 and 2017. This is the 3rd year for Forest City in assisting those in needs.

State Housing, Communications and Multimedia Committee chairman Dzulkefly Ahmad launched the Back to School handover ceremony, held at the Forest City Phoenix International Marina Hotel. “The practice of helping the less fortunate is a commendable practice. This may be a small value for those who can afford it, but it means a lot to those who receive it. I am confident that Forest City’s donation will make the children happy and will ease their parents’ burden”,DZulkefly said.

Forest City represented by Deputy General Manager, Hj. Ir. Syarul Izam Sarifudin said: “Education is an individual’s asset and we at Forest City are very hopeful that this contribution will inspire these children to go to school, acquire knowledge and become successful people in the future. May our efforts today benefit them.”

Since its inception, Forest City has been active in organising corporate social responsibility programmes. Forest City plans to increase environmental recovery activities and efforts in collaboration with experts in their respective fields.
